for the Effective Band Director"

ABOUT
Robin Linaberry works frequently as a conductor, adjudicator, clinician, private teacher, mentor, and published author. He has retired from fulltime teaching after thirty-five years of distinguished work, including as Director of Music for Maine-Endwell Schools, Head Director for the American Music Abroad "Red Tour," and former Adjunct for Ithaca College, Binghamton University and SUNY-Broome CC. Robin is a state Chair (NY) for The National Band Association, and conductor of the award-winning Southern Tier Concert Band.

Honors and recognitions include: The ASBDA-Stanbury Award -- The New York State Band Directors Association "Outstanding Band Director" -- The New York State School Music Association "Outstanding Contribution to Music Education" Award -- The BCMEA "Distinguished Service Award" -- WBNG-TV's "Excellence in Education" Honor -- and both the "Golden Apple Award" and the "Founder's Day Life Membership" for excellence in teaching, selected by peer colleagues. Robin also served MENC (now NAfME) as the national Band Mentor in the original "Ask the Mentor" program, and is listed as a "Nationally Registered Music Educator."
To his most important supporters, Robin is best known as "my husband," "dad," and "Bampa." His greatest joy is daily life with his wife and best friend, Patty, an inspirational and highly-respected Elementary classroom teacher. They are proud of their two wonderful adult children, Whitney and Christopher, and met their first grand-daughter, Mckenna Rose, in 2019. Chris and daughter-in-law Elizabeth have just welcomed their second child, Rebecca Grace, so the grandparenting joy continues!

In his free time, Robin immerses himself in carpentry and home improvement projects, reading, writing, and music composition/arrangement. Besides the extra joy found in their three dogs (including Merritt, a regal Nederlandse Kooikerhondje), Robin & Patty have loved traveling both domestically and abroad ... almost as much as they enjoy a quiet night at home with family and friends.
